A new era of Occupational Health: COVID-19 Consideration

Occupational Health is the promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers, and Dr Naidu covered the following areas within her talk:

  • Managing workers with co-morbidities
  • Addressing a positive case in the workplace
  • How to live with the virus ” new normal”
  • Interfacing efficiently with the health care system

Guest speaker

Dr Naidu is a medical doctor and Public health specialist with more than 20 years’ experience both in South Africa and the UK. She is an experienced clinician, who was involved in guideline and programme development at the height of the HIV epidemic in South Africa. Her work in public health focuses on developing quality systems to ensure every person has access to affordable and safe care. She consults to organisations and governments to design innovative strategies to address healthcare gaps. She is supporting South Africa’s response to the COVID-19 crisis by the development of evidence-based guidelines and building capacity for hospital and workplace preparedness as well in her capacity as Faculty at the Institute of Healthcare Improvement, Board member of the Public health Association of South Africa and a Fellow of the College of Public Health Medicine Specialists in South Africa.
